What records do you need from us to start a denture case?

For a conventional full denture, we typically work through the standard sequence: preliminary impressions, custom trays, final impressions, bite rims and jaw relation records, wax try-in, and processed final. We can step into the workflow at any stage. For partial dentures, we need an accurate impression that captures all remaining teeth and the edentulous areas, opposing arch records, and a bite registration. For digital dentures, we accept intraoral scans where appropriate, though most denture cases still benefit from at least some analog records. If your office has a preferred workflow, send us the case and we will follow it.

How long does a typical denture case take from records to delivery?

A conventional full denture from start to finish usually takes four to six appointments spaced over several weeks, with lab turnaround between each stage running five to seven business days. Immediate dentures are typically faster because the try-in stage is condensed. Partial dentures with cast frameworks generally take three to four lab stages. Digital dentures can compress the timeline meaningfully, especially for replacement dentures where existing prosthetics can serve as a starting point. We confirm timing on every case at the start so you can plan appointments with confidence.

Do you fabricate flexible partials, and when should I prescribe one?

Yes. Flexible partials, made from materials like Valplast and similar nylon-based thermoplastics, are an option when patients cannot tolerate metal frameworks, have allergies or sensitivities, or prefer a more esthetic clasp solution. They work best as transitional prosthetics or in cases with limited remaining dentition where retention demands are modest. For patients who need a long-term partial with strong retention and bilateral support, a properly designed cast-metal framework is usually the better answer. We are happy to talk through which option fits a specific case.

Can you handle implant-retained overdentures, also called snap in dentures?

Yes. Implant-retained overdentures are one of the most rewarding removable cases we fabricate, because the patient experience is dramatically better than a conventional denture. We work with Locator, LOCATOR R-Tx, ERA, and bar attachment systems on two-, three-, and four-implant cases, on every major implant platform. We also handle conversion cases when an existing denture needs to be retrofitted to receive attachments after implant placement.

What is your turnaround time for denture repairs and relines?

Most simple repairs (a fractured tooth, a midline fracture, a clasp repair on a partial) ship within one to two business days of receiving the prosthesis. Hard and soft laboratory relines generally turn around in three to four business days. Rebases take five to seven business days because the prosthesis is essentially being remade on the existing tooth set.
