Frequently Asked Questions About Our Dental Implant Lab Services

Do you fabricate both screw-retained and cement-retained implant restorations?

Yes. We fabricate both, and we are happy to discuss which makes sense for a given case. Screw-retained restorations offer retrievability, which is a meaningful advantage for hygiene access, component replacement, and long-term maintenance, but they require the screw-access channel to land in a workable position. Cement-retained restorations give more flexibility on access and esthetics but trade off retrievability and introduce cement cleanup risk. For most posterior single units and full-arch hybrids, we lean toward screw-retained. For anterior cases with awkward angulation, cement-retained or angulated screw channel solutions often make more sense.

What information do you need from us to start an implant case?

For a restorative case, we need the implant system and platform, an intraoral scan with the scan body in place (or a closed-tray impression with the impression coping captured), an opposing arch scan, a bite registration, and shade and material preferences. For a planning or surgical-guide case, we also need a CBCT scan and a clear sense of the planned prosthesis. If you are missing any of these, our team can walk you through what is needed before the patient comes back in.

Can you handle full mouth dental implants and All-on-X style cases?

Yes. Full-arch implant prosthetics are a significant part of our work. We fabricate PMMA conversions and provisionals, titanium-bar reinforced acrylic hybrids, and full-arch monolithic and layered zirconia prostheses. We use a verification jig stage on every full-arch final to confirm passive fit before fabrication, which is the single most important step for the long-term success of these cases.

How do snap on dental implants and implant-retained overdentures differ from full-arch hybrids?

Implant-retained overdentures, sometimes called snap on dental implants, are removable. They use two to four implants with attachments such as Locators or a bar to retain a complete denture that the patient takes out for cleaning. Full-arch hybrids are fixed prostheses that only the dentist removes, typically supported by four to six implants. Overdentures are usually less expensive, easier to clean, and an excellent option for patients with limited bone or budget. Hybrids feel more like natural teeth and stay in the mouth at all times. Both are valid solutions, and the right answer depends on the patient.

What is your turnaround time for implant cases?

Single-unit screw-retained or cement-retained implant crowns generally ship within seven to ten business days from the time we have a complete case. Custom abutments and Ti-base-bonded restorations follow the same range. Implant bridges, hybrid provisionals, and full-arch finals are quoted case-by-case because the verification stages and try-in appointments make the timeline patient-driven. We confirm a target ship date at the design stage and update you if anything changes.
